Homeowner’s Guide to ADU’s

Port Progress and Abundant Housing Massachusetts will co-host A Homeowner’s Guide to ADUs, a free community workshop for Newburyport residents (and allies) interested in learning how accessory dwelling units can expand housing options in the city.

The event will be held Thursday, April 2nd from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Newburyport City Hall, 60 Pleasant St.

Attendees will hear from a distinguished panel of local leaders and industry professionals, including Ward 5 Councilor Lisa Smith, Ward 6 Councilor Mary DeLai, Councilor at Large Ben Harman, and Planning Director Andy Port. Builders, bankers, and real estate professionals will also be on hand to address the practical side of ADU development — from permitting and construction to financing and property considerations.

Whether you’re a homeowner exploring ways to add housing on your property, support a family member, or generate rental income, this workshop will offer the expert guidance and local context you need to get started.

Attendance is free and open to the public.
