Worcester, Massachusetts – Abundant Housing Massachusetts received the Housing Hero Award from Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) last Thursday, June 13.
Each year MHP honors individuals and communities for their hard work and unwavering commitment to supporting and furthering affordable housing. Four honorees were selected to receive this year’s Housing Hero award- Abundant Housing Massachusetts was one of the recipients.
Thank you to Massachusetts Housing Partnership for recognizing Abundant Housing Massachusetts as a Housing Hero. We are striving to build upon the valuable work housing organizations like MHP have done before us. With continued partnership, AHMA aims to create new meaningful pathways for the pro-housing movement through grassroots organizing and other educational opportunities in Massachusetts. It is an honor to work alongside all the recipients of the Housing Hero Award past and present,” said Jesse Kanson-Benanav, Executive Director of Abundant Housing Massachusetts.
MHP hosted a ceremony and luncheon honoring the housing heroes on the second day of the Housing Institute, Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 11:45 a.m. at the AC Hotel, 125 Front Street, Worcester. Secretary of Housing and Livable Communities, Edward Augustus presented the award

Abundant Housing Massachusetts is a non-profit organization founded in 2020 to advocate for the creation of abundant housing for all and to develop and support a network of grassroots, pro-housing groups and activists across Massachusetts. AHMA is committed to fostering a movement that includes diverse voices, geography, and people with different lived experiences to help shape an inclusive statewide pro-housing network
