Join Strong Towns Worcester for a mock Worcester city council session on Saturday, May 31, 2 – 3:30 PM at Technocopia in the Printers Building, 44 Portland Street in Worcester. In this safe and friendly environment, you will gain confidence and practice speaking at city hall. At this mock city council, you will have a chance to present a two minute speech to address a proposal that supports our agenda of more missing middle housing, elimination or reduction of parking minimums and more mobility and transportation options for Worcester residents who walk, bike or take public transit.
One of the most effective tactics to shape public policies around land use, housing and transportation/mobility in Worcester is to give public testimony at city hall. Showing up and speaking out at Tuesday night City Council meetings or relevant zoning, planning, economic development committee, etc meetings is a way to have influence in Worcester’s land use planning. Your voice does count! Let’s practice together and bring a friend or two! Upon registration, you will receive a step-by-step guide on how to prepare and deliver a two minute statement at a Worcester city council or committee meeting.
